Nestled in the Roanoke Valley and surrounded by Virginia's scenic Blueridge Mountains, Falkenhorst K-9 is a top-quality dog breeding, boarding and training kennel offering more than 40 years' experience. Owned and operated by Mrs. Louise Jacob, Falkenhorst specializes in breeding, raising and training exceptional puppies for pet, show, obedience, agility, Shutzhund, search and rescue and protection work. Mr. Bela Jacob, who passed away in 2002, was a Certified Master Trainer with excellent credentials, and had trained many dogs for police K-9 units, search and rescue and professional protection work prior to his passing. His legacy continues with the efforts of Louise and her staff.

 With each of the 6 breeds of dogs that we specialize in, we follow a very selective breeding program which produces puppies that exemplify the breed standard in health, conformation and temperament. We are dedicated to preserving the integrity of each breed, while continually striving for improvement by selectively crossing our bloodlines.

At present, Falkenhorst K-9 specializes in 3 large dog breeds; Boxers, Rottweilers & Argentine Dogos, and 5 small dog breeds; Boston Terriers, French Bulldogs (Frenchies), Brussels Griffons, Shih-Tzus and Long Haired Miniature Dachshunds. All of our breeding stock is registered with the appropriate kennel association and possess excellent bloodlines. All of our dogs are thoroughly tested for hereditary health problems including OFA certification and BAER testing where applicable. Puppies are thoroughly vet-checked, vaccinated (7 shot puppy vaccination series and Rabies) and de-wormed before they are placed with their new owners. Where required, we also provide docking, dew claw removal and cropping. All puppies are sold on a strict contract and come with a health certificate and comprehensive guarantee against any hereditary health problems.

We take a great deal of pride in our kennel, in the puppies that we produce and in the quality of the homes into which our puppies are placed. We care about our dogs, and are very careful to ensure that they are being placed with loving, responsible owners. To help us determine the suitability of each potential puppy buyer, we ask many questions to help us learn as much as we can about them. We want to make certain that they have the time, knowledge, ability, facilities and resources to provide a loving, responsible home for their puppy. We hope to establish a long-term relationship with each of our buyers that does not end when they take their puppy home. We are always happy to provide advice and support to you as you adjust to life with your new family member. We enjoy hearing from our new friends with updates and photos are time goes by.
